Who is the programme for?
The MBA in International Hospitality Management at IMI is designed for managers with several years of experience as hospitality and tourism related specialists wishing to move into general management positions and senior managers who wish to enhance their management knowledge and for managers with a different background rather than hospitality wishing to change career paths.
Programme Objectives and content
The MBA in International Hospitality Management is carefully designed to develop:
- A general management perspective that focuses on issues pertinent to managers who need to take an organisation-wide view in an international perspective.
- A combination of general management abilities in hospitality management thus providing a holistic approach to modern hospitality education.
- A range of problem-solving skills through creative and novel approaches.
- The capacity to deal with complexity and ambiguity through critical thinking and independent judgment.
The programme is being delivered through 6 mandatory taught units with subjects ranging from International Strategic Management, Financial Management for Services and Business Research Methods to Managing Hospitality and Entrepreneurship. Finally the students have to produce an off campus (non-residential) and preferably international field consulting project or dissertation in order to earn the MBA Award (two degrees).

MBA international Hospitality Management Semester 2 (Non- Residential)
In the second MBA semester, which is non-residential, students may choose one of the two following options. Dissertation or Field Consulting Project
IMPORTANT: Students who after the first MBA semester (Residential) decide to do an Internship can only choose the dissertation option. It is not possible for such students to do the Field Consulting Project.

Entry Dates
There are two intakes per year in January and July.
Requirements for Admission
A candidate should normally hold one of the following:
(a) A first degree in any discipline (normally a BA degree or equivalent awarded by recognized Institutions from and outside the UK)
(b) At least 3 years of work experience
(c) A qualification from a professional body accepted by the IMI as being of equivalent level to (a).
(d) A combination of qualifications and experience that demonstrates the required intellectual qualities and communication skills at Masters level
